About
I am a question asker from way back – always researching, studying, talking with people, trying to better understand something. And I love to share what I learn with anyone who will listen. I’m just naturally inquisitive, and God has gifted me to be an encourager. It is my great pleasure to enrich the lives of people in my circle of influence, especially those who are in need. That’s what this web site is about – me investing in the lives of others by sharing what I learn.
This web site will address life related issues such as healthy attitudes, healthy relationships, healthy finances, healthy body, and a healthy spirit. These are questions that affect all of us, and the answers we find have the potential to improve our quality of life. It’s important to note that I am not a professional counselor, adviser, scholar, or physician, so keep that in mind when making your decisions, and be careful to use your OWN best judgment.
If you’ve read some of my posts and found them to be helpful, or you just like what I’m doing, participate in the conversation by leaving a comment, or send me an email. Maintaining a web site takes a
I have another blog where I share about our family’s life in ministry: Rigney Ministries. I’d love for you to visit with me there, if you’re interested in that kind of thing.

I know the popular blog thing to do is “100 Things About Me,” but I’m really not that interesting! If I had to come up with seventy-five more things, and you actually read them, you’d probably die of boredom, and I’d be charged with wrongful death or something!
- A picture says a thousand words, so I thought I should start with a recent pic of my husband and me …
- I’ve been a Christian since I was a teen, and my relationship with the Lord is something I take very seriously. I’m not insinuating that I always get it right – just that it means a lot to me.
- I’ve been married 25 years, and I can honestly say that my love for my husband has been enriched because of my relationship with the Lord, and my love for the Lord has been enriched because of my relationship with my husband.
- I have one precious child, and she is the apple of my eye.
- I broke my ribs in 10 places when I fell through the floor of a house my husband and I were remodeling – it really hurt!
- I worked at NASA as an associate engineer for nine years – and I loved every minute of it.
- I quit working at NASA to stay home with my daughter – and I love every minute of it.
- I LOVE camping with my family in our RV, not in a tent – I’m not THAT outdoorsy!
- A cow licked my face when I was a little girl. G-R-O-S-S!!!
- I hate to shop! I know that’s extremely un-ladylike, but it’s true.
- I have a really strong southern drawl. I keep trying to lose it, but it keeps finding me.
- I was utterly shocked when people started calling me ma’am a couple years ago. I didn’t realize I was old – I don’t FEEL old!
- I don’t eat seafood. I really want to like it, but I just don’t.
- Beth Moore is my favorite Bible teacher. I’ve done almost all of her Bible studies, or at least read the book version.
- I don’t need to dye my hair yet, but I’m concerned about my eyebrows. Four or five gray eyebrows keep showing up over my left eye. I don’t want to be known as “the woman with one gray eyebrow!”
- I homeschool my daughter, and I’ve been learning all kinds of stuff from her studies. I must not have been paying much attention when I was in school!
- I love to walk. Last year my daughter and I walked 4 miles each weekday. This year I’m not quite that enthusiastic!
- I passed all four calculus classes and differential equations with straight A’s, but I still have to count on my fingers sometimes!
- I am very slow at everything I do. It drives my mother (and everyone else) crazy!
- I LOVE good company. I’m a real “people” person, but I notice that I am enjoying solitude more and more as I grow older.
- Reading is my favorite thing to do!
- Housework is NOT!
- I’m not a girly-girl. I don’t care for anything with feathers, lace, frills, or fancies – in clothing or home decor.
- I love to hang my clothes on the line to dry. I don’t even mind that the clothes are “crunchy” when I bring them in.
- I’m a great reader, but I can’t spell. It’s REALLY embarrassing, so if you find a misspelled word on this website, please use my Contact page to let me know. I don’t want everybody thinking I’m a complete ediot! (I know I misspelled idiot – I just did it for fun!)
I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know me. If you’ve read my list, I would love for you go to my most recent post and leave a comment to introduce yourself, then I’ll visit your blog and do the same!
Keeping it real,
