McKenzie and I spent all of last weekend in the hospital … but as you can see from the pic, she got the worst end of the deal. She has had a hurting tummy for several months and is under the care of a gastrointestinal specialist at Children’s hospital in New Orleans. On Friday evening she got sick … really, really sick … and we wound up in the emergency room at 2:30am. WHY does it always happen in the middle of the night?! After a couple hours of drip and two different anti-nausea meds, the ER doctor decided to admit her for observation. It was two long nights and days later when Benjy brought us home. Her tummy is very tender to the touch and very sensitive to certain foods, but she is feeling SO much better … as you can see in the last pic I took at the hospital.
I’m SO very thankful we had good medical attention, and I REALLY appreciate the prayers of all our family and friends. God heard our prayers and answered them! We don’t know exactly what brought on this attack, maybe it was related to the pre-existing tummy troubles, or it could have been food poison or a stomach virus. Her pediatrician suspects her pre-existing trouble could be a bacterial ulcer, since she has not responded to the usual ulcer treatments. Her GI doctor is going to follow up with an endoscopy, but she wants to check the enzyme levels in McKenzie’s pancreas first. I think she suspects there could be a blockage in the duct that leads to the pancreas. We would appreciate your continued prayers, and we will keep you posted on her progress.

Ending Revival Season 2008 On A High Note

I certainly have a LOT to be grateful for, so I’m going to try to be disciplined enough to post about something each week. Want to know why others are thankful? Head over to Heavenly Homemakers and visit other GratiTuesday participants.

Hey, Tammie, I guess I didn’t realize you were blogging here. (Where have I been????) I’m adding you to my blog reader. I can’t wait to have time to really look around here. (You’re posting your menu?!?!?! Is that so Benji and McKenzie won’t ask what’s for supper? LOL! You’re waaaaaaaaaay to organized girl!)
Love ya!
Wow…sounds like you all had quite a week! So thankful your daughter is doing better and you are all home now. God bless you all with rest and a quick recovery (and some answers to what is going on in that tummy!).
Tammie, oh yes, we will continue to pray for McKenzie. I’m so sorry she has had such a rough time. I pray that the root of the problem can be found and she never goes through this again.
Hugs to your sweet girl.
