Thrill Of Victory

Yellow Belt uploaded from tamrig‘s Flickr photo stream.

Our daughter earned her yellow belt in taekwondo last week! She was awarded the stripe of excellence along with her yellow belt, and she also received a certificate and an ATF patch for her uniform. She is pictured here with one of her fantastic instructors.

Here she is accepting her belt from the head of the school, Mr. Barras, who is a 5th degree black belt. I love the team of instructors at her school. They are very strong encouragers, and the students have such a healthy respect for the them. They are definately doing something right, because I see a new enthusiasm and self confidence in our daughter, along with rapidly improving health. Taekwondo is a great workout .. they work HARD for a solid hour! She is already developing new muscle tone and strength, as well as greater flexibility and balance.

At the end of the ceremony, each student tied on their new belt for the first time. Bringing home the new belt was SUCH a thrill to her … just look at that smile on her face!

Keeping it real,

    Hi Tammie,

When you put in the work to earn something, when you receive it – you really do feel proud of your accomplishment. Your daughter deserves to be proud for all the hard work she put in to earn this. Enjoy these moments…

And I know how serious she is about doing well in her sport. I watched her go through her forms when she was vacationing here in BC ….was it a whole week ago? I miss you McKenzie!
