What Lovely Memories!
My daughter and I shared a lifetime memory today. It snowed at our house for the first time in her life … and she is 14 years old! Living in the Deep South does not lend itself to ‘White Christmases,’ yet it is still the dream of every child.

| There was a light dusting on the Magnolia leaves. |
And a dusting on the hood of our truck. |
We had about four and a half hours of snow, but no accumulation on the ground. Still, it was a wonderful day filled with excited phone calls and photo shoots! My FaceBook friends were all chattery, and beautiful snow pics were posted and commented on all day. Our neighbors only 30 minutes north of us had a couple inches stick and they posted the most beautiful snow pics. Even our friends in New Orleans got a couple inches of snow. That almost NEVER happens!
At times the snow was quite heavy, with large flakes! My daughter took this pic of me at the edge of the woods when the larger flakes were falling.
And I took this pic of her later, when the flakes were a bit smaller. She was trying to catch them in her mouth. It was the first snow McKenzie has seen at home, and I’m thankful that she got to experience it. She had a ball … and made a lovely memory to last a lifetime!

How fun is that?! Some of my kids have never seen snow at all and they really want to. What a great day for you.

That’s pretty cool Tammie!
Being in Wisconsin…it snows like every day (okay, maybe not that much, but still!). We’re outside dancing around if it hits 40 degrees this time of year – breaking out the shorts and suntan lotion!
Enjoy the white stuff (if it’s still around)! It brings out the kid in all of us (I can see it did for both your daughter and you!).

I found your blog from a comment you left on Jungle of Life. Nice pics! And I envy you the snow while I melt in tropical heat. I admire people who put up pictures of themselves and their families so openly – it takes a courage I do not have yet. I enjoyed seeing how happy you and your daughter looked. You’re both really pretty too!

What a sweet expression on your daughter’s face! My oldest son just saw snow for the first time this Thanksgiving when he went to Indiana, and he’s 27! I remember snow from when I was little and i can’t say I was a big fan. It LOOKS pretty, tho!

Ya’ll can come up here and enjoy our snow and frigid weather if I can come down there. I miss the south terribly and wish to one day be back down there. My family is a little south of Atlanta, the rest is in Lousiana, Texas, and Kentucky. I’m up here for my husband
